kiddo updates

Abbie-

i think she is close to 14 months now? and just crazy as all get out. She is really great at picking up signs, so i should start being better at teaching! Bannana, more, please, elephant, apple, cracker, and her own sign for the bounce house- she bounces and waves her arms. talking: baa (sheep sound), thank you -da-doo, elliot -a-u-at, cat (dat), woof/oink - both are a grunt, mama, dada, booboo, ball, yes - uhhuh(i obviously say that too much), no-nah or a head shake, bye bye - bah bah. She can follow directions very well, and is even helping elliot with his chores- setting the table and putting away the clean silverware from the dishwasher. She loves reading and can answer my questions by pointing to the objects/animals on the page. She loves elmo- and her dancing/talking elmo doll is a big hit! Loves music and dances and spins to everything. Abbie has also started to love hide-n-seek, and will go hide while I count and then jump out and say boo to scare me along with Elliot. She is starting to like to draw- when she doesn't eat the crayons, and likes to push on playdough. She is getting more interested in stuffed animals and her little dolly and will give them hugs and kisses, and even put them to sleep. She is getting to be a pickier eater, but still likes food and can feed herself with a spoon and sometimes with the fork. Abbie still loves to laugh, play, cuddle and be as independent as she can be.

Elliot- doing great in school, making new friends and having fun. We have started sight words, and he is picking up on them and enjoying making sentences and finding his words in books. Getting better at writing his name, but not as interested in handwriting. He does like to paint, glue, cut and make little art projects. Still a very active boy, and is getting really good at soccer- we go as a family to the soccer fields some weekends and he'll just run up and down the field kicking that ball! Daddy's a bit concerned about his catching skills as Abbie tends to catch the football more than Elliot :) ok- will add more later....

swine flu shots were yesterday and went great- no fevers or other issues and kids are acting like nothing happened. good good!

Sounds like all is well on the kid front. Amazing how quickly they change, but in many ways stay the same. The key traits seem to last a life time with the environment just playing around the edges.
