Having a computer geek for a husband definitely means that we have lots of gizmos and gadgets. Usually my main concern with all of it is how to organize and store it, but they do come in handy. Aaron is on a business trip for the next couple weeks, and before he left he set up our web cam. It really is amazing what we can do with technology these days. Aaron and I are no strangers to long distance communication, but watching Elliot get to play with daddy tonight did my heart good. So yea to all the smart computer people out there who invented all these wonderful things! And thanks daddy- the little guy was happy to see you tonight!

man you have to tell ced and i how to do that we have no idea but it would be nice
All you need is a webcam and a microphone (one or both are often installed into laptops). Once you have those two things, use a program that supports 'webchatting'. In this video, we're using AIM, but we've used Yahoo Messenger, and MSN Messenger as well.
Hey Aaron,
Thanks for the tips. Ced and I used, I guess, windows messenger, and it only was like 1 and half inches square, so I was wondering what you guys used for the whole screen. I'll pass the AIM info onto Ced. Also he is not very enthusiastic because so far I only see him. I am using your old laptop out here, we have to track down a camera I can use so he can see me. I guess. . . Thanks for the tips!
What a great thing, for Elliot to be able to see Daddy when he's away! Oh, and I love his laugh -- its contagious!
