This week's favorite book

We go to the library once a week for story time and then I usually venture into the kids section to let Elliot pick out a book. Now, before he was really moving this was a fun, feel good experience. Not so much anymore. The little guy is rather fast, so now it goes something like this: I put Elliot down in the childrens area, he runs to the nearest book shelf and starts flinging books- I chase after him, he squeals as I just miss his shirt, and is off to a nearby shelf as I frantically put back the books hopefully close to where they belong. The librarians frown, I smile in a please forgive my toddler way, and grab whatever book is on the ground and take it to the counter to check out. Well last week one of the books we brought home was on military tanks. He loves, I mean adores this book - much more so than the cute nursery rhyme one I picked out. Daddy is the only one who can read it to him, because daddy makes the good "boom" sound of the gun. So there you have it - he is no longer a baby- but more boy than I ever imagined. Daddy pointed out to me that this book is one of a series - looks like humvees is on our next library list. sigh.
